Young people from the Youth Life Group recently spent the weekend at Cliff College Festival in Calver Derbyshire.

Every year Cliff College hosts a Chritian festival during the May bank holiday. Around 2000 people attend over the weekend which included 8 of us from Epworth Baptist.

We took 5 of our young people for the first time this year and loved every minute of it. We camped in tents and was blessed by the lovely weather especially as there hasn’t ever been a weekend like it in terms of the amount for sunshine we had.

The site itself is located in a idilic spot in Derbyshire, surrounded by cliffs, countryside and beautiful views. For the event the college is split into sections made up of different venues, main tent for adults, pulse tent for teenagers, awesome tent for primary aged children and creche for babies. Throughout the day there are various seminars covering a range of topics which you can attend as well.

Throughout our time there we worshipped, had great bible teaching, prayed, sang and enjoyed spending time with one another. There were many things to do onsite such as football, climbing, archery etc.

This years theme was Holy Ground, we were challenged by recognising God as a Holy God, that we are Holy people and that God calls us to Holy living. The young people responded really well and it was such a great eye opener for them seeing 190 teenagers coming together to worship Jesus.

We all want to go back next year and hopefully even more young people will be there to experiance God in a new way, to be refreshed and learn more about God’s amazing love that He has for each one of us and His plan for our lives.
